Description

Our R&D team is seeking a scientist with a background in a crop science discipline to join our field characterization team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as is the desire and ability to excel in a multidisciplinary environment. As an early member of the R&D team, this person will have an opportunity to help establish a culture that nurtures scientific excellence, a sense of urgency to achieve project success, and success built on collaboration and personal accountability.

Major Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project teams to assess the product attributes of molecules in both the greenhouse and in the field.
  • Work with the Field Development Leader to design and contract field characterization experiments to support projects throughout the product development pipeline.
  • Visit CROs conducting field experiments to rate trials and the performance of the CROs
  • Collaborate as a member of the Biology Team to develop approaches for rapidly and reliably advancing candidate molecules through a tiered evaluation system.

Education

  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., weed science, plant pathology, entomology, biology, agronomy)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in crop protection R&D including characterization of small molecule herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides in the greenhouse and field.
